Traveling cat owners hire pet professionals to visit their Cheshire felines while traveling. Cat owners are in transition preparing to travel, juggling many responsibilities and loose ends to tie up. Lodging reservations, transportation issues, family needs, animal concerns, business needs etc. Consequentially, cat owners may forget taking inventory of all their cat supplies before traveling.
It is not uncommon in cat visits by pet professionals to be left without certain supplies. To support the traveling cat owner, I suggest the pet company furnish a short list for the cat owner of the items pet professionals need to adequately feed and clean up after their cat. The list can be emailed or can be included in the original registration paperwork the cat owner signs.
The following list should suffice:
1 cat carrying case per cat
clean litter
paper towels
antiseptic spray/wipes
poop bags
dust pan/broom
dryfood/wet food proportions
medication instruction
1 extra key (the pet company should have 2 keys minimum)
mail/newspaper on hold or delivered?
veterinary contact information
inform pet company of any current/recent pet problems
a flashlight to look under and in any dark areas a cat may be hiding
Also, please make sure to
Keep doors opened inside the home -- they should be propped open with weighted objects to ensure cats' access to food, water, litter, etc.
Close off attics and basements unless those spaces are used daily for litter boxes
Customer service for the good of the cat owner, their cat, and the pet company is the top priority for the good of all.
